Los miembros de la Asamblea General de la ONU han elegido este jueves al exprimer ministro de Camerún Philémon Yang como su nuevo presidente para la 79 sesión del organismo, cuya duración es de un año y que comenzará el próximo 10 de septiembre, momento en el que sustituirá al actual presidente, el trinitense Dennis Francis.
